West Chapter Report – February 2016

This meeting was held at Cooper’s Ale House at 5340 W. Market Street in Greensboro, NC. Most members arrived at about 6:45 for dinner and the meeting was called to order at 7:30. The business of the Region that was transacted at the most recent Board of Directors meeting held in Greensboro January 19th was reported to the attendees at the February 2nd West Chapter Meeting. The Region is appreciative of Jerry Pell allowing us to use the Conference Room at 307 S. Swing Road on both January 19, 2016 for the BOD Meeting and January 15, 2016 for the Comp Board Meeting.

The BOD Meeting had a great deal of business to handle and the minutes of the BOD provided the February West Chapter Meeting much to learn about and discuss as the Chapter’s program.

There were 13 members in attendance and many of the items from the minutes of the BOD meeting were discussed. The Chapter also discussed the sponsoring of the annual picnic at the site where the last three have been held. If there is no other group or Chapter wanting to host this year’s picnic, we will secure the use of an appropriate shelter at North East Park in Gibsonville, NC. A date for this will be posted on the Region’s website as soon as it has been reserved. Please consider what activities might be planned for this get-together. The previous thoughts of some sports competition has not materialized and other alternative activities may be planned.

It was announced that the West Chapter Meeting would have a guest speaker for the March meeting and the subject of his address will be “Race Car Brakes and How to Build and Maintain Them”.
