West Chapter Report – March 2020
The March meeting was back at Coopers Ale House and attended by 15 people.
Board meeting notes were passed along, and it was mentioned that Jim Creighton might be a point of assistance for room refund due to missing the SEDiv convention. Since he was the one that secured the block of rooms, he might have a contact to assist him, if there is still an issue with that.
The NCR Scholarship fund was discussed, and it was advised that the website is now up. There is an option for making donations on the website. The scholarship applications are in one Raleigh school now. A reminder was provided regarding the sign raffle that is occurring this road race season, with the awarding of the sign to occur at the October race. Raffle tickets are $1.00 each. There are poster boards to display both individual and company donors. Both the raffle sign and the poster boards are available for viewing at the hospitality tent. When you register for events on MotorsportReg, there is an option to donate to the fund as part of your registration. It was noted that all funds are accounted for by two people as well as once the scholarship is awarded the funds will be paid to the school and not to the winner.
Our hunt for a possible new location for the monthly meeting continues.
