West Chapter Report

The West Chapter meeting was called to order at 7:35pm at Cooper’s Ale House at 5340 W. Market Street in Greensboro. Most of the final count of 16 attendees of the meeting had been there approximately 1 hour, eating from Cooper’s full menu, drinking, and sharing small talk with their friends.

The first order of the meeting was to go quickly over the agenda of the July Meeting of the NCR BOD. This section of the meeting was covered by Buddy Matthews, West Chapter Coordinator. It was reported that several items of the BOD agenda were reported to have been treated like our National (USA) representatives and “kicked down the road”.

Hello from the West Chapter!   6:30 p.m. found us at Cooper Ale House enjoying drinks and ordering dinner.

Want to start by saying “CONGRATULATIONS to BUDDY MATTHEWS”  he is the new West Chapter Coordinator.  All 19 attending members voted to put Buddy in this important position.  I really hate it that I won’t be writing these reports in the future, I think it was starting to come to me. But, not to worry, Buddy is very poetic and sure to write lively and informative reports.

Welcome, Linda and Wally Becker!  Linda and Wally met us at the Greensboro Car show and we will see them at the track in March. Be sure to give them a warm NCRSCCA Welcome. And speaking about the show, you should have been there.

Greensboro, NC – (NCRSCCA) – HELLO Race Fans!!  You should have been there, great fellowship, food and drinks.

We started off watching some footage of the Goblins Go at VIR.  It was good to have the big screen TV up and running. 15 of us welcomed guest Mike Dehaan to SCCA.  Mike and his son are builting a race car, SPO?  It will be exciting to see what they make of the Mustang.

Greensboro, NC – (NCRSCCA) – A great group of race fans showed up November 6th at Coopers Ale house in Greensboro for the West Chapter monthly meeting. 15 members attended. After a good dinner, all kinds of stories were being told. The meeting detailed the October Board of Directors meeting. All were impressed with the show the Solo group put on for the North Carolina Autocross Championship event this year. GREAT JOB by the entire Cape Fear Chapter. You guys ROCK!!! Keep up the good work, the smell of gas and burning rubber, it’s the best!

Greensboro, NC – (NCRSCCA) – The West Chapter met just like planned at Coopers Ale House on Tuesday October 2nd, 2012.  Seventeen members attended and we had a great meal and some good cool drinks.  We reviewed the October Board of Directors meeting. Some highlights are that there is going to be a cook off by the corner workers at The Charge of the Headlight Brigade 13 Hour race on October 27th at VIR.  The NCRSCCA Solo group is holding the NC Autocross Championship on October 6th & 7th at Cherry Point.  They have lots of entrys and expect a great event, so be sure to attend if you can. Everyone is getting ready for the Goblins Go and the 13 Hour.  If you have not signed up, HURRY, it is sure to be a GREAT time.

Greensboro, NC – (NCRSCCA) – Hey, Welcome from the West Chapter NCRSCCA.  June 5th found 14 die hard racing fans at Coopers Ale House for cool drinks and good food. At the BOD meeting this number may grow, we watched a brief video of the Saturday qualifying for the May event.

GREENSBORO, NC – (NCRSCCA) – The West Chapter NCRSCCA met Feb 7, 2012 at Coopers Ale House in Greensboro, NC.  With 21 racing fans attending, we filled up the room.  The food was great and the beverage was cold, yeah, there was the random cup of coffee being enjoyed.  I must admit that I to, most often finish the evening up with a cup of decaf.  We welcomed a new guest, Daniel Copsey.  Daniel is ready to see some racing acition and all hooked up for the March weekend.

The list of topics ranged from the great Banquet in January to review of the last Board meeting.

GREENSBORO, NC (NCR-SCCA) – The West Chapter December monthly meeting was held at Cooper Ale House in Greensboro, NC.  19 members showed up for some great food and a little Christmas cheer.  We watched a 2011 SIC FV race, Thanks Shannon Jones.  There were a lot of race stories.

Remember to attend the Annual Banquet Jan. 7th, sure to be some great food and company.

GREENSBORO, NC – (NCR-SCCA) – Nov 2nd West Chapter Meeting,  19 members attended the meeting. We had a great dinner and lots of racing conversation. The discussion included some broken cars and some wrecked cars, the Gobblins came out and got some cars. 

GREENSBORO, NC (NCR-SCCA) – Tuesday in Greensboro brought on memories of the old TV show “Lost in Space”, you know with the robot flailing his arms and spinning around in circles repeating what was on the radio air waves “Warning, Warning, Tornado Warning”.  But, by the time the West Chapter SCCA meeting got started, 19 brave road warriors had arrived, the sky was clearing and the batteries on that old robot had died, leaving a nice fall evening.
