For those interested in experiencing what it’s like to drive on track at speed, Tarheel Sports Car Club (THSCC) is hosting a HPDE/PDX event on VIR’s Full Course on September 12-13. THSCC puts on a fun, well organized event and has run groups for all levels of experience from complete novices to experienced track junkies looking for more seat time or to shake down a new car. SCCA members get a discount with the code “NCR2015”. Early Bird registration ends this Friday! They will also be hosting a Rally Cross the same weekend at VIR plus a competition on the Go-Cart Track. NASCAR K&N Pro Series East Biscuitville 125 returns to
VIRginia International Raceway Aug. 29

Danville, Virginia – July 23, 2015 – For the third year running, VIRginia International Raceway will host the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East Biscuitville 125. The Biscuitville 125, sponsored by Biscuitville FRESH SOUTHERN®, will take place on VIR’s 2.25 mile North Course on Aug. 29. The event will include a full day of racing competition featuring the rising stars of NASCAR’s top developmental series, the Cooper Tires Prototype Lites (formerly IMSA Lites) support series, and additional festivities such as testing, qualifiers, driver autograph sessions and more.

Triangle Chapter Report – July 2015

Whether it was the Rolling Stones concert (Gimme Mick!) at the State Fairgrounds, or getting ready for the Double SARRC at Roebling, or the start of the Independence Day holiday weekend that kept people away from our meeting, I don’t know, but only eight stalwarts, including myself, showed up at El Rodeo for the July meeting of the Triangle Chapter. But we had a good time catching up and sharing plans. RE Rex Deffenbaugh and his wife Tricia are planning a trip to Mid-Ohio for the big AMA vintage motorcycle festival there the weekend of the 10th – 12th. The whole family is apparently going in the motorhome, even grandpa. Sounds like a great time!
